No sooner had we re-opened in January and the market was buzzing. Both our private rental and student markets have been extremely busy.
As our portfolio of student properties grows every year we see demand remains strong, with the strongest interest in the higher quality, higher rent properties. With over seventy properties already let for September 2017 this should be seen as a positive situation for both landlords and tenants. Put simply people will pay for better quality accommodation.
The private rental market has seen demand for all types and sizes remain strong and recent lettings range from a studio flat on the High Street at £350pcm to a larger four bedroom house on Laurel Drive at £795pcm. In between this the constant demand for good quality well maintained two and three bedroom houses is as strong as ever. This has been enhanced by changes to school catchment areas making Newport in particular very popular. In this sector we have achieved lettings recently on a two bedroom house at £625pcm and three bedroom properties ranging from £595pcm to £795pcm.
There seems no reason that this will change which means another busy month ahead.
